The Letten Foundation (LF) is a legally registered Norwegian Foundation that was established in 1986 by Professor Letten F. Saugstad. She has overseen the allocation of funds and grants for the Foundation since its inception. Educational grants are offered to students from post-graduate level including awards for outstanding scientific achievements. LF aims to build a pool of young upcoming scientists in the field of human health and diseases, nutrition, and developmental neurobiology, and in this process encouraging students to carry out quality research publishable in international peer reviewed journals. The Foundation also supports studies of health effects of pollution and other adverse environmental changes in order to provide new insight into harmonizing man and his environment. To date the foundation has supported both Masters and PhD students from various countries in the world including Norway, Sweden, Finland, UK, Russia, India, Nepal, China, Australia ,Tanzania and Zimbabwe. LF has funded International Awards for outstanding scientific contributions and Global awards for excellent contributions in the field of HIV/AIDS activism.
Zimbabwe is one of the beneficiaries of the LF programs through our research project called Better Education and Health for the African. For 10 years she supported the BHAMC studies.
